The Wimbledon Championships is the third tennis Grand Slam event of the year. The games will take place on the outdoor grass courts of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London, England, United Kingdom.
For men's singles, the defending champion is Rafael Nadal from Spain. Unfortunately, he has withdrawn from the tournament due to a knee injury.
For the women's singles, the defending champion is Venus Williams from the United States. She is seeded 3rd for the Wimbledon 2009.
